The phases of strongly interacting matter in heavy ion collisions

چکیده

In ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions the produced high temperature, high energy density state will cross different phases of the strongly interacting matter. The original idea of quarkgluon plasma formation has been evolved and the weakly interacting gaseous state of massless partons has been replaced by the picture of strongly interacting massive constituent quarks. Experimental results at SPS and RHIC supports this idea. We discuss the phases at LHC energies.

Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions

By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...

Lattice Simulations of the Thermodynamics of Strongly Interacting Elementary Particles and the Exploration of New Phases of Matter in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions

At high temperatures or densities matter formed by strongly interacting elementary particles (hadronic matter) is expected to undergo a transition to a new form of matter the quark gluon plasma in which elementary particles (quarks and gluons) are no longer confined inside hadrons but are free to propagate in a thermal medium much larger in extent than the typical size of a hadron. The transiti...

Dense , Strongly - Interacting Matter : Strangeness in Heavy - Ion Reactions 1 - 10 A GeV

This talk reviews the physics of dense, strongly interacting matter. The newly acquired experimental data on strangeness production in heavy-ion reactions from 1-10 AGeV is used to probe the physics of in-medium properties of matter, multi-body collisions, and the search for the baryon-rich quark-gluon plasma.

Dileptons in Heavy-Ion Collisions

Due to their penetrating nature, dileptons are a valuable probe for the properties of the hot and/or dense medium created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Dilepton invariant-mass spectra provide direct access to the properties of the electromagnetic current-correlation function in strongly interacting matter. In this paper an overview is given of our current theoretical understanding of th...

Exploring Qcd with Heavy Ion Collisions

After decades of painstaking research, the field of heavy ion physics has reached an exciting new era. Evidence is mounting that we can create a high temperature, high density, strongly interacting “bulk matter” state in the laboratory — perhaps even a quark-gluon plasma. This strongly interacting matter is likely to provide qualitative new information about the fundamental strong interaction, ...
